Since 2012, the band named Bendorim, successor to Les Mélotrices (founded in 2007 by Dela Hüttner), tours on the stages of this world. They sing rarely and less rarely performed songs in Yiddish. Their music is a mixture of Worldmusic, Klezmer, Folk and Swing.
In “un dos glik”, Bendorim focuses on women: oppulent poetry by Molly Picon (who was not only the most famous actress of the Yiddish Theater, but one of the first who wrote her own musical lyrics) or simple songs from recent times by Israeli singer/songwriter Chava Alberstein. The lightness, wit and philosophical wisdom of these songs have enchanted Bendorim.
A warm-hearted program awaits you, filled with wit and spirit and accompanied by short explanations and anecdotes.
